Behold, the shortest review on Gaming Hell.

Space Invaders DX is basically surplus to requirements. It's an arcade game that's a compilation of other arcade games, and they're all the same arcade game but they look a little different. And that arcade game is Space Invaders, a game that literally everyone who knows what a video game is has played at some point. And even people who don't know what video games are knows about Space Invaders. OK, at the time of its release, it was at least 15 years since Space Invaders was actually in the arcades, but come on, why would an arcade goer need a game like this?! There's only two bits of 'new' content; one of them is a throw-away 'parody' mode that appeals only to absolute Taito die-hards (such as myself, apparently) and the genuinely interesting thing- the Vs. mode. As far as I can tell this was the first of its kind- a split-screen player-vs-player Space Invaders game, and it's a nice diversion if you've got a friend to play against.

Aside from that, though, Space Invaders DX is pretty much pointless as an arcade game. It got two stars just for the Vs. mode.

If you need a Space Invaders fix, there are better ways.

For its bewildering existence, Space Invaders DX is awarded...

In a sentence, Space Invaders DX...
Sure is a video game, but why does it exist?
